We have recently updated kosher listings for North Miami Beach and believe that it is the very best vacation location for a Frum Jewish couple from anywhere.
Here is why…
Kosher Vacation on a Budget
Sure, you can do Switzerland, Israel or other location, but they become very expensive. My wife and myself already took a few vacations in Florida. We fly from the Northeast, and you can get a decent price on airfare pretty much most of the time. Car rental and other transportation needs are very accessible all over the Metro Miami area for a pretty decent price. Kosher food choices are plenty. In fact, the Miami, FL area has multiple kosher food choices for every budget. More about that later.
Minyan, Synagogues and Religious Services
If you are Frum, Heimish or Orthodox and keep Kosher, North Miami Beach is the place for you. There are multiple choices for Davening in all types of Synagogues and Shteiblech. From Chasidish, Yeshivish to Chabad and Modern Orthodox. You don’t have to travel an hour to get to a Minyan. You don’t have to walk 2 hours on Shabbos to go Daven. There are multiple hotels and other lodging options close to Shuls so that you can easily walk to Shul in just a few minutes.
Kosher Food and Dining
The North Miami Beach, Florida Kosher Directory, The Miami Beach, Florida Kosher Directory have one of the best kosher food options in the world for every taste and budget. You have kosher supermarkets, multiple kosher bakeries and delis for the best kosher takeout and then you have kosher restaurants for every budget and taste. You can also check out the Florida Kosher Directory, that includes all of the State of Florida right here on Kosher Travel Info for a full listing.
For some people, schlepping along food when they go on vacation is no big deal. For us it is. My wife is a gourmet cook and loves to prepare nice dinners. She is also very quick in the kitchen. She can prepare a five course meal in less than an hour. However, when we are on vacation, she likes to be served. She also loves not to have to clean up and wash the dishes. For that reason, we love Miami, Florida. On our last vacation, our biggest expense was dining out. We dine out twice a day. Once for brunch and then again for dinner. We stayed in our villa most of the time in the pool or the outdoor hot tub. But we did spend good quality time in nice kosher restaurants all over Miami Beach and the entire area.
And then you have Florida Kosher Villas…
We used to rent a kosher condominium or suite in Miami Beach. Either at Solomon Suites (now closed) or from an owner at Masada or an hotel room on Collins Ave. They were all nice vacations and we have good memories. However, as a Heimishe person, I could not walk on the board walk during the day. It is a beach after all. We were also always feeling cramped in our little apartments or hotel rooms. Then we discovered Florida Kosher Villas. Wow! The best of both worlds. Full beautiful homes with full kosher kitchens right in the center of the Frum area in North Miami Beach. They are all beautifully kept and maintained and are very spacious. The little bit that we did use the kitchen, we found it very convenient and spacious. We did not really cook there except for some hard boiled eggs for Shabbos. But we did use it to warm up our food here and there and to keep our Shabbos take out food hot.
The Weinberger’s were very accomandating. Shaya and his wife welcomed us when we arrived, showed us around the house, backyard and pool. Gave us a binder with lots of kosher and other local information including Minyan listing, kosher grocery stores, pharmacies, shopping centers, Walmart, attractions and sightseeing and more.
We loved the large private heated pool in the backyard plus the huge outdoor Jacuzzi. In fact, we spend most of our time in the backyard in or next to the pool.
