So, I’m leaving to Israel for just a few days… and… I need to do a car rental in Israel. So like everything else, travel related, I did a lot of research on what are the best options. I’m writing this post, before my trip. I hope to come back to give you all aa report of my actual car rental experience in Israel.

I gathered my information mostly from 3 sources:

  • From speaking to friends and family who often travel to Israel and rent cars. So they have been there and done that.
  • From visiting car rental company websites.
  • From travel sites and travel blogs.

Here is some information I can share.

I posted some questions on Trip Advisor. I am surprised what an active travel forum that is, and even more surprise how active the Israel Travel forum is. I got very detailed replies to my inquiries, as to where to park, which areas are safe, if I should rent a car at all vs using public transportation, and much more.

Here is in particular a good piece of advise I received from a poster with the name of Oreet-S. I must say that Oreet seems to be very familiar with everything and anything travel related in Israel. And is a nice person too. So here is Oreet’s advise about car rental in Israel:

I suggest you reserve a car in advance – do not wait till you get here. The companies that get the best feedback are Eldan, Avis and Hertz – make sure to use the Israeli site to reserve and not the international one – site must end in xxx.co.il – that way the quote you get will include all the mandatory insurance and you won’t have expensive surprises when you pick up the car. You can also check with www.noachcar.co.il — he is the only third party agent that is recommended – he has a proven track record for reliability and honesty.

I did just that. Rented a car from Noach Car Rental (they gave me Budget). The email exchanges were professional, all my questions were answered, and they provided some very valuable travel tips as well. Like how to avoid the 17% VAT charge if you are a tourist and not a resident of Israel. For now, I’m very happy I chose Noach Care to my Israel car rental needs. Of course, I hope to come back and give you more information after my visit.

For now, please see below the contact info for Noach Car Rental. Please note, this is not a paid endorsement, neither did Noach Car Rental asked that I endorse them.  I’m just happy when I get exceptional customer service, and I’m sharing them with you all.

Best way is to visit their website and request a car rental:
