Kosher Athens: Chabad Lubavitch of Athens, Greece

Chabad of Greece is part of the worldwide movement of Chabad- Lubavitch , dedicated to the spiritual and physical well being of Jews everywhere, under the leadership of the Lubavicher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Shneerson obm.

After over 30 years of cooperation with the Jewish communities in Greece, Chabad opened a permanent center in Athens during spring 2001, operated by Rabbi Mendel Hendel and his wife Nechama. In 2009, a permanent center was opened in Thessaloniki (Salonika), operated by Rabbi Yoel Kaplan and his wife Ruth.

Chabad of Athens offers a wide variety of classes, programs designed to reach all ages and levels of Jewish learning. Our activities include Discussion groups on Contemporary Jewish Issues, Weekly Talmud & Torah Study Groups, Classes in Jewish philosophy and Mysticism, Special Holiday Programs, publication of Jewish material in the Greek language, Jewish E-mail Service and Homepage, Shabbat Meals and Tourist assistance.

Our primary goal is to improve the quality of Jewish life for every Jew in Greece: the moral values and rich traditions that Judaism has to offer are things that no Jew should be deprived of.

Our mandate is Jewish continuity.

Our task is making Judaism accessible to you.

You will find Chabad atmosphere to be warm, entertaining, non-threatening and not judgmental.

You will discover that Judaism has much to say to the contemporary Jew.

    I am PG visiting Athens in August with my family. How do Shabbat meals work? Do we book in advance ?
    Are the meals in the restaurant?
    And is there a possibility of having food sent to our hotel?
