The Best (and Only) Kosher Cafe in Portland, OR

Cafe at the J is Portland’s only kosher dairy restaurant certified by Oregon K and offers sandwiches, soups, salads, pizza, falafel, pasta, bagels, and more! It is located inside the MJCC. Surf the net while you enjoy the new cafe. We offer free wireless Internet access.

We are the only full service kosher restaurant in Portland. We are open to the public Sunday through Friday. Dairy (Mostly Cholov Stam) & Parve.

On Tuesday evenings the Cafe shuts down its dairy kitchen, and instead operates out of the catering kitchen, offering a spectacular meat menu.

Some of our great regular items include daily seasonal home made soups and special salads, baked goods, pasta specials, fish specials, yogurt parfaits, fresh fruit and, of course, your favorite coffee drink.

Our regular menu offers a variety of breakfast options, as well as salads and sandwiches to entice you along with power bars, sports drinks and waters to satisfy your post-workout needs.

The Kosher cafe is open:

• • Monday: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm
• • Tuesday: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm; 5:30 – 8:00 pm (meat)
• • Wednesday: 7:30 am – 8:00 pm
• • Thursday: 7:30 am – 8:00 pm
• • Friday: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm (depending upon Shabbat times)
• • Saturday: Closed

Orders for Challah and Bagels must be received by Tuesday for pick-up on Friday

Weekdays from 2:30-3:30 pm all coffee drinks at the Café at the J are HALF OFF! It’s Coffee Happy Hour! Get that afternoon “pick-me-up” or decaf. See you there!
