The Jewish Center

The Jewish Center is a vibrant and dynamic synagogue and social center located in the heart of Manhattan’s pulsating Upper West Side. A flagship for Modern Orthodoxy in New York City, The Jewish Center offers a full compliment of classes, lecture series, social programming for all ages and stages of life, along with a full schedule of weekly and Shabbat services.

Bikkur Cholim

The Jewish Center’s Bikkur Cholim Committee invites you to participate in one or all of our programs. We have Shabbat visits to Mt. Sinai Hospital twice a month, programming at the Atria Senior Residents Facility on West 86th once a month and Bikkur Cholim By Phone where we connect with homebound JC members once a week. JC Hospitality

The Hospitality Committee promotes the value of hachnasat orchim, welcoming guests, and creates an environment of warmth in the shul by welcoming newcomers and members each week. In addition, the committee works with community volunteers who open their homes on Shabbat to ensure that members and guests have a place to share a Shabbat meal in a friendly environment.
