Chuster Shul as it is locally called is a very unique Shul. The mispallelim are both; locals and people coming from as far as the other end of town. There are even Bucharim and Avreichim from Crown Heights stoping by almost every Shabbos on their way to the lower East Side from Crown Heights. In Chust, they can Daven, grab a cold cup of soda and continue on their way.

Davening is being done with special feelings. It is a known fact that there is NO TALKING IN THE CHUSTER SHTEIBEL during prayer services.

The Rav, Harav Yakov Tirnauer Shlita (son of Harav Tirnauer, Rabbi of the famous Shomer Shabbos Shul in Borough Park) is a very special and warm person who greets all guest with his special warm smile. The Rav Shlita always has a good word and some Chizuk for each mispalel.

The congregants all feel like one big family. Holidays are special and meaningful in the Chuster Shteibel. Pesach, Shevues and Sukott all are special times here in Chust. The Rebbe Shlita davens in his special way and all the congregants feel that he has each and every one of them in mind.

The high holy days are also very meaningful and special in Chust. On Rosh Hasuna, the Rav Shlita says a special short drusha before the sounding of the shofer. He also davens the main tefillos (Musaf) on the holy days.

The Rav Shlita gives a daily Shiur after Ma’ariv in the winter and before Mincha in the summer. The Rav Shlita also delivers a sermon every Shabbos at Shalosh Se’euda. There is a little bit for everyone in the Rabbi Tirnauers short derusha. Some Chizuk, a good Vort on the Parsha, a short Chasidish story and some Mussar. Almost all Shalosh Se’euda Drushas has some mentioning of Ahavas Yisroel, loving your fellow Jew. The Rav Shlita keeps on urging us to love all Jews and to help each other out and to say away from Lushen Hora and Machlokes.

Mincha each day is the same time as Friday’s candle lighting time followed immediately by Ma’ariv. In the winter, there is a second late Ma’ariv Minyan at 9:15PM.
