The Young Israel of Bal Harbour is a warm and friendly synagogue which welcomes Jews of all affiliations and backgrounds in an environment which fosters spiritual growth and commitment to true Torah values. The Young Israel of Bal Harbour serves the communities of Surfside, Bal Harbour, and the Bay Harbor Islands, Florida. If you live in the area, are a part-time resident, or are on vacation, we invite you to visit our synagogue and attend our services.
The Young Israel of Bal Harbour is currently in the process of building a new Beit Knesset to house our services and programs. Information about dedication opportunities is available by calling the synagogue office.
The Young Israel of Bal Harbour was founded in 1999, with Rabbi Moshe Gruenstein as the spiritual leader since 2001. The synagogue provides daily prayer services, as well as classes during the week, and youth groups on Shabbos. The synagogue is in a community that is enclosed by an eruv, and is served by a chevra kadisha (305-287-2663), and there is a mikvah in a nearby synagogue. There are many kosher stores and restaurants in the area, and there are Jewish schools nearby, and other Orthodox synagogues in the area. The Young Israel of Bal Harbour serves the communities of Surfside, Bal Harbour, and Bay Harbor Islands (which are all contained within the eruv).
