The National Capital Mikvah

The National Capital Mikvah opened in 2005 after years of preparation. Located in Georgetown at the heart of the Washington DC Jewish community, we provide service to both communal residents and visitors. We are an all-volunteer organization, and as such we operate on an appointment-only basis. We have two preparation rooms. Please contact us at least 48 hours before the needed date to make an appointment, by sending an email to appointments@dcmikvah.org.

Our primary purpose is to serve the taharat hamishpacha needs of married women. We have men’s hours before the yomim noraim and festivals. Additionally, we serve brides and grooms before their wedding day, and conversions under the aegis of the local court of the Rabbinical Council of America.

Location:

The National Capital Mikvah is located at 1308 28th St. NW in Washington DC, 20007 (Georgetown). We are in the basement of the building adjacent to the Kesher Israel Congregation building. The combination to the door will be provided to you when you make an appointment. If you have any trouble finding us, or need more precise directions, please call us at 202-342-5303.

Appointments:

The National Capital Mikvah is entirely volunteer-run, and therefore it is always necessary to make an appointment. We have two types of women’s appointments: half-hour showers, and one-hour baths. Appointments on days other than shabbat or yom tov are never earlier than 8PM.

The suggested usage fee for an appointment is $25.

Please note that due to changes in the tax code, this fee is not tax deductible. Donations aside from the usage fee, however, continue to remain tax deductible and are an important source of support for the mikvah.

To schedule an appointment, please call 202.342.5303 or send an email to appointments@dcmikvah.org 48 hours in advance.
