Located minutes away from Sydney’s famous Bondi Beach, and in the centre of Sydney’s Jewish Community, Chabad of Bondi welcomes all Jewish Residents, Travelers and Visitors!

Chabad of Bondi also known as F.R.E.E. “Friends of Refugees of Eastern Europe. Serves as a center for Jewish life and education in the Bondi Area. Chabad is dedicated to making the beauty of our Jewish principles and heritage accessible to all Jews, assisting in bringing the light of Jewish tradition into one’s life. Chabad welcomes and accepts all Jews regardless of background or affiliation.

 

F.R.E.E. was established in 1986, In Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, to meet needs of Eastern European migrant community in NSW. Friends Of Refugees Of Eastern Europe Limited was formally incorporated in 1995 in NSW and operates as a charitable organisation (a public benevolent institution) in its own privately-funded buildings at 25 & 27 O’Brien Street Bondi NSW.

 

F.R.E.E is actively involved in combating any forms of racism & anti-Semitism and acts as an advocate and liaison body where government and non-government bodies are concerned. It also actively promotes multiculturalism and cultural maintenance of traditions, language and customs.

 

Today F.R.E.E membership or affiliation accounts for over 6000 families living primarily in Sydney East & Eastern Suburbs areas.
