Summer 2018 is almost here and lots of families or planning their summer vacations. In the past, most families will head to “The Mountains”, the Catskills region in Upstate New York to spend the summer in a bungalow colony. The mother would stay all week to take care of the kids, play Bingo with the ladies and buy ice cream when the ice cream truck would roll by. But these days, more and more families are no longer going to spend the summer in the “Bungalows” for many reasons. One of them being that in our times, in lots of families, both parents work. Hence the reason for this article.
In this post we will discuss how to plan a great kosher vacation for the Frum Orthodox Jewish family. We will discuss vacations that are ideal from just a few days up to two weeks. We will keep it very simple, and mostly point out the regions and the available accommodations, where to get kosher food and a place to go Daven with a Minyan. We will focus on the following regions:
- The Catskills region in New York State
- The Adirondack including the region of Lake George, New York
- Vermont, including the mountains
- New Hampshire, mostly the white mountain
