It is true that Westchester County in New York State never became a major Jewish Orthodox metropolis. However, there are thousands of Jews living in Westchester county which is a beautiful place to live and raise a family. It is just a short commute by rail (Metro North Railway) into Grand Central Station in midtown New York City.
The main Jewish services are located in lower Westchester county including White Plains, New Rochelle and Mount Vernon. Up north you also have the beautiful historic town of Mount Kisco with Mt Kisco Hebrew Congregation (Orthodox Shul) and the Nitra Yeshiva and community. You also have right next door the Kasho community in Bedford Hills and the Pupa Yeshiva (Kehillath Yakov Rabbinical Seminary) in Ossining, New York.
