Kosher Hotel & Lodging Requirements to be listed
in the
Kosher Travel Info "Kosher Hotel & Lodging Database".
OK... A Orthodox Shul has separate seating. A kosher restaurant sells
kosher food and does not mix milk and meat products. A
kosher Mikvah, obviously has a kosher "ma'ayan", or rainwater collected in
the proper way. But what makes a hotel kosher?
Most orthodox Jewish travelers for business purposes are not necessary
looking for a "Kosher Hotel". All you need a hotel for is a
place to sleep... They are mostly looking for a nearby synagogue or kosher
food establishment. So in our case, the people looking
for a kosher hotel will mostly be people or families traveling for
vacation and looking for a complete kosher package, or in other words, a
Kosher Resort. So for the purpose of our kosher database, the requirements to be listed
in the Kosher Hotel & Lodging Database are as following:
-
The hotel, resort or lodging should offer a Kosher Food plan or have
kosher kitchenettes so guest can prepare their own kosher food.
-
The establishment must be "User Friendly" for the Shabbat ("Saturday")
observant Jew. For example: If your door locks are electronic card types,
the hotel should offer upon request a "Key" to the Shabbat observant
traveler for Saturday use so they don't have to use the electronic card
during Shabbat. Shabbat is observed from Friday at sundown till Saturday
night.
-
Optional (Highly Preferred but not required). The hotel should have a Shul
or Minyan (room to use as a synagogue) on premises.
-
Optional (Highly Preferred but not required). The hotel should have a
Mikvah on premises or be close to a kosher Mikvah nearby.
If you don't meet the above requirements, but you do cater to Kosher
Travelers (Close to a nearby synagogue, etc) you can still list your hotel
or lodging with us. You should note that information in your listing.
Proceed to Submit your hotel or lodging establishment to the Kosher Travel
Hotel Database. |
